COMMUNITY FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Wheatland County in partnership with Wheatland Wind Project LP have created the Community Fee Assistance Program to give low-income families and individuals an affordable option to participate in recreation, arts, libraries, culture programs and activities such as exercise or sports (drop-in or formal).
This program will also assist in the cost of travelling to these activities.

YES – we will cover the cost of the following:
*Two programs per person per year.
**Program fees are paid directly to the program.
***Travel costs will be paid directly to applicants
No – we will not cover the following:

***Travel costs will be paid directly to applicants
- 60% of the registration cost up to a maximum of $300 for organized team sports (hockey, curling, ringette). Maximum 1 sport per family member per year*
- 100% of program if it includes supplies and total cost is $125 or less
- 60% of program cost if it includes supplies and total cost is $126 or more
- Art/swimming/skating lessons/drop-in sessions
- Library programs that have an attached cost
- Wheatland Society of Arts programs
- The Vault programs
- Gymnastics/dance classes
- Horse back riding lessons
- Rodeo school lessons
- Music lessons
- Archery
- School related extracurricular activities – participation fees only (field trips)
- School related programs that provide cultural or recreational activities – case-by-case basis
- Club memberships – Lions/Legion, Seniors clubs, youth clubs (4H, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides)
- Drop in Yoga/exercise classes
No – we will not cover the following:
- Any program not hosted or originating out of Wheatland County or Strathmore
- Equipment/Gear
- Supplies not included in the registration cost
- Horse back riding for therapy
- School trips outside of Alberta
- Gym memberships
- Applications from residents who do not live in Wheatland County

Eligibility requirements:
Family size and total family income need to fall within this range:
1 person $35,000 or less
2 people $35,001 - $45,000
3 people $45,001 - $55,000
4 people $55,001 - $65,000
5 people $65,001 - $75,000
More than 5 people $75,000 plus $7,500 for each additional person
