Emergency Preparedness 

We all have a role to play in emergencies. Now is the time to take action to ensure you are prepared to protect yourself, your family and your community during an emergency. 

In the event you are required to evacuate due to wild fires or any other environmental emergency affecting  your area, have your 72 hour emergency kit ready to go! 

Here are some tips to assist you in being prepared for an emergency.

​In the recent years with extreme weather and other untoward events, it is more important than ever to recognize we may need to support our Community by providing safe gathering places for those displaced from their homes.

The Reception Centre for Wheatland County is at the Wheatland County Municipal Operations Centre and the secondary Reception Centre will be in Strathmore at Strathmore Motor Products Centre

If needed, we can have evacuation centers set up in:
  • Carseland
  • Gleichen
  • Hussar
  • Nightingale
  • Rockyford
  • Standard
